Nevada Artist FRED BOYCE
Reno artist Fred Boyce is an award winning - nationally known artist /author. His art career began at age 16 when he became an apprentice, helping produce nationally syndicated cartoon strips. He went from there to years working in commercial art and served as art director in New York ad agencies. He established his own art studio as freelance artist - serving national accounts - as designer illustrator. His wildlife, sporting paintings appeared as magazine covers and story illustrations in such publications as Grey's Sporting Journal, Wildlife Art News, Sporting Classics, Wyoming Wildlife, Pennsylvania Game News, Western Horseman and others.
For the past 20 years he has devoted his art career to landscape / wildlife paintings. He won the 1987 Nevada Stamp Contest and was commissioned to paint nine Big Game Animals for publication in the Nevada Wildlife Record Book.
He was chosen six times by Ducks Unlimited as "Artist of the Year". He has published two books of his Nevada Paintings. Fred's work is in many private collections here and abroad.
